The actors of this unique art form introduce themselves, become visible, and connect – from independent artists, ensembles, venues, experts, journalists, and museums to institutions of education and research.

The KompleXXplorer can be filtered by category. Refine your search by federal state, activities, or target groups. The filters offer a nuanced view of networks, specializations, and the geographic distribution of the many actors.
You’ll find the filter menu at the top left of the homepage. The results of your search will appear either on the map or in list form. You can easily switch between the two views using the buttons at the bottom left.

The KompleXXplorer is a map shaped by the actors of the puppet, figure, and object theatre scene. Entries are approved by our team but are not checked for accuracy or up-to-dateness. Each user is responsible for the content of their own entry.
The KompleXXplorer is a subproject of the KompleXX Figurentheater alliance. Founded in early 2024, the alliance stands for national visibility, cultural-political recognition of the genre, and for broad networking within the scene. Several actions and model projects have been or are being implemented, all designed to benefit the entire field.
The national alliance work of KompleXX Figurentheater is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media based on a resolution of the German Bundestag as part of the "Verbindungen fördern" program by the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste e.V.
