The Schaubude Berlin is a production house for contemporary puppet and object theater. As an anchor institution for the independent performing arts in Berlin and as a central platform for the genre, the theater presents different aesthetic styles and works by Berlin theater professionals, national and international guest performances, co-productions and in-house productions. With educational theater offerings and discursive formats, the Schaubude Berlin is committed to the mediation of artistic processes and, as a member of associations and interest groups, to the cultural-political, aesthetic and content-related positioning of puppet, figure and object theater. Every year, the international Theater der Dinge festival explores new trends in the genre.
