Guest theatre
The Flachsland – Hamburger Puppentheater is Hamburg's only puppet theater and stages guest performances from Hamburg, Germany, and abroad from September to May/June. Based in the Flachsland building in Barmbek since 1987, it has been operated as a private theater without its own ensemble since 2013, staging around 170 performances per year.
The performances for families, children's groups, and adults include marionette theater, shadow theater, material theater, puppet theater, and object theater, showcasing a wide variety of puppet theater.
An important part of the theater's work is offering seminars and workshops in the field of puppet theater for children, amateurs, and multipliers.
The theater is supported by the non-profit association Arbeitsgemeinschaft für das Puppenspiel e.V.
